Nancy Drew by Carolyn Keene and the Hardy Boys by Franklin W. Dixon, all created by Edward Stratemeyer.
"I Saw Her Standing There" by the Beatles. My heart went boom
When I crossed that room
And I held her hand in mine
This is from Carolyn Keene's Secrets of the Nile
Crossover Supermystery. I purposefully didn't consult the book as I drew this, but as far as I'm concerned there's a part at the end where Joe and Nancy need to defuse a bomb while Frank's AWOL. All the while they're in some assembly hall in Luxor. But then Frank rushes in and gets them the hell out. Here's Nancy pulling her shoes off and holding the stopped(?) bomb while Frank hauls ass inside to grab her. Also, everyone was undercover and pretending to be married. ...also, FrankisinlovewithNancy.
So... Frank's heart's exploding, but not completely out of love. I couldn't resist. I love the lyric.
The background black is Sharpie, but everything else (including their outfits) is colored pencil. The clock numbers and Nancy's wedding ring's lens flare were added in Photoshop.
