I love Frank's face in this. I actually spent more than ten minutes on ONE DRAWING. The various gradations of shock and nervousness his eyes go through are surrounding his massive head, obviously.

From a fic-in-progress of mine where Frank is in an art class while he, Joe, Nancy, and George are out on a case. He needs a live model for an assignment or something, and... Yeh, they're cute. Shut up. I think she's not wearing anything in the story, though. Maybe I'll come out with a second version of this picture? Bah. We'll see.

Frank set to work, eyes flashing every second between everywhere on Nancy’s body back down to his paper. After whirling his charcoal around in several large circles, Frank zeroed in first on Nancy’s face, or rather, its shape. She knew he always drew the actual facial features last.

Finally she had the leisure to pay attention to her acrobatic heart, wriggling its way up her esophagus. It stopped for a second when Frank suddenly approached her. “Don’t move,” he muttered, “just going to fix your hair.”

His hot, shaking hands brushed against the arm over her head several times as he deftly pulled the various flowered pins and laid them down on an end table. After running his fingers through it, Nancy volunteered, “I could get a brush—“

“No. It’ll look better like this,” he said, tossing her hair once before letting it settle randomly on the two pillows under her. “Besides,” Frank added with an unsure grin as he retreated to the bed, “It’s easier to draw this way.”

Nancy forced her mind to wander as she lay there, soaking up Frank’s gaze like warm sunlight. But what to wander to? She found it difficult to concentrate on anything but his eyes.

Frank’s goofily twisted face snapped Nancy back into the room with him. “What?” said Nancy.

”Your feet. I can’t draw feet.”

”Sorry for having feet, then.”

”You should be.”
